Village Kitchen

Community Café, Emergency Food, Food Supply / Featured

Our Lunch Club continues every Thursday from 12pm to 1.30 at Hive Community Centre in Dollar, offering home cooked and hearty meals at £8 for three courses. It gives seniors the chance to taste good food while building supportive networks, all tackling social isolation and loneliness at the same time. The menu changes weekly, which we announce on social media and our website every Monday. We offer free transport to any guests from Dollar or Muckhart and we can arrange to get people to and from Lunch Club from other areas.

Our Meals on Wheels runs every Tuesday and Friday, with meals made fresh in Dollar and delivered to people across Forth Valley on these days. They’re packed full of fresh ingredients, portions are huge and food deliveries are free. We get to know people who receive our meals and never drop and run, referring any wellness concerns onto health professionals or services. We also offer a replacement meal, plus a free one, if someone doesn’t like what they’re given. We also learn what people like and don’t like so we can tailor the meals they receive.

Village Kitchen is run by volunteers across communities and we’re always looking for new ones to continue supporting more people with good nutrition and breaking down isolation. They cook meals, deliver meals, help out at Lunch Club, wash up and befriend the people we support.
