Tour of Braehead Community Garden
As part of the Investing in Communities work around Climate Action Planning, Forth Environment Link arranged a learning visit and tour of the well-established Braehead Community Garden, attended by members of the recently formed Denny & Dunipace Allotment Society. The purpose of the tour was to gain inspiration from the opportunities and activities Braehead Garden is able to provide, as well as learn from experienced members about the administrative processes that go into setting up a garden that is both safe and accessible for all.
Ettrick Dochart Community Hall
Ettrick Dochart Community Hall is run by volunteers, and they knew that with some more funds, they would be able to do even more good. In 2022 the hall’s committee applied to the Falkirk Food Futures fund for a grant to make improvements and put on some more exciting activities.
Jupiter Growing Together
Jupiter Growing Together is an ongoing project between The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) and Jupiter Wildlife Urban Centre, located in Grangemouth. In 2022 Falkirk Food Futures, administered by Forth Environment Link, was able to award £11,740 to the project to ensure continuation.
Larbert District Childminders
Larbert District Childminders are a group of childcare professionals based around the Larbert area in Falkirk, who took it upon themselves to set up a brand-new community growing space to benefit their charges.
Rainbow Muslim Women’s Group
The Rainbow Muslim Women’s Group is a Falkirk-based SCIO that provides social and educational opportunities to women from ethnic minority backgrounds. Their activities are varied, but always with a focus on helping others.
